Catastrophic bleeding kit in the workplace: evidence, law and practicality
About this session
Bleeding control kits are turning up in first aid rooms, reception desks and public access cabinets, often ahead of any training plan for them. Employers are asking instructors what to buy, and what they are liable for once it is on the wall.
citizenAID works through the evidence behind each item, what the law expects of an employer who provides one, and the practicalities of keeping kit and skills current. Placeholder session – content team to confirm.
You’ll leave able to
- Specify a catastrophic bleeding kit proportionate to your workplace risk assessment
- Explain what an employer takes on when it provides haemostatic dressings and tourniquets
- Plan the training and refresher cycle that has to come with the kit
